Entrepreneurship….. The way-out.

The world is changing fast, with a huge accelerating rate, the believe of
people about work and work place been a safe place and secure are totally fading away day after day, the industrial age is gone when you get out of
school and get a job and work from 8-4 and work for 40hrs a week for
40yrs and be given pension for your meritorious service. The idea of
job security is getting obsolete many jobs are getting eliminated and
salaries are not been paid, workers in private sectors getting retrenched and treated like slaves, just few months ago, a Nigerian bank layed off
2000 of their members of staff because of the economic situation of the
country.
The Nigeria economy has been in a state of comatose with inability
to pay salaries or even cater for it’s citizen. We are in dire need of
Entrepreneurs who will pay people instead of looking for a government
to pay you. Over the years the government in their myopic state have
started to understand that they need to invest in people to start
their own career, the last governmental administration started a program
called SureP, where a part of that project is to grant loan to people
to start their own business after writing your business plan, this a
step in the right direction which i think subsequent administration
should follow because it will not only eliminate poverty but also
create job opportunities.
No country can have a totally successful economic story to tell when a good percentage of the citizens are civil workers, the rate of salaries to be paid will definitely be to high to cope with, there’s magic to it, some other sector will definitely suffer for it, just like what is currently going on in Nigeria. Believe it or not, Entrepreneurship is the only solution to the current economical issues in Nigeria. Its high time entrepreneurship is introduced in schools and everywhere else, ust be sure people would be empowered .

Dangote today is the richest black man on earth because he started
with this stride and he has been able to employ 60,000 people, he is
not only wealthy but influencial and famous. We have other
entrepreneurs in Nigeria who are making it great in their line of
business and agriculture should be a start for us, South Africa’s land
is 8% arable for farming and they are able to feed Africa, Nigeria
land is 65% arable but we can’t feed ourselves that’s to tell you we
have huge untapped potential in this nation. I see many graduate in
the field Agriculture searching for jobs in banks, (what a disgrace).
Nigeria today, imports some ridiculous items like pencil, palm
oil, textile, groundnut oil even garri. Its a matter we ought to look
into as an individual for the development of our nation. Most state
government are owing salaries of more than four months because its
resources are not enough to cater for the people and this are states
with huge potentials but the citizens have resolved to depending on
government for livelihood, until everybody begin to produce more than
they consume the war against poverty is unending, though we blame the
government for doing this and that but If you as a citizen “stand up and
do something, something may happen but if you do nothing, nothing will
happen” The benefit of an Entrepreneur outweighs that of job seeker The choice is yours.
